Feelings Are the Language of the Soul by Gloria Toti

As Bob Goff says,

God isn’t an editor; He’s a creator.

And he’s not giving us the hairy eyeball when we make mistakes.

LET THERE BE were the three words God used in Genesis to create and then he handed the baton to us to continue adding beauty and value to His world.

LET THERE BE was the phrase God used to create and his design filled up the spaces of the earth that were void…

Darkness and hopelessness no longer owned the center stage.  Water was handed its boundary.  Birds and sea creatures were made.  Land and sky and day and night were under His watchful eye.

And then we read in Genesis 1:27:

God created human beings in his own image.

In the image of God, he created them; male and female he created them. And He told us to be fruitful and multiply.

I’m about to say something profound, and I’m going to warn you so you don’t miss it.

There is a let there be Spirit within all of us.   He gave us permission to co-create with Him.

So, what have you created lately?

We carry the breath of God within us and there is a person inside your body who needs you to show up because people need your voice right now in this present moment where chaos threatens life as we know it.

Imagine standing before God one day and chatting about the things you dreamed about doing but you never got around to it for various reasons:

Imagine meeting Him face to face one day.

Whew – there is a lot of emotion with that reality.  I feel it as well.

I know He will hug each of us and welcome us home.

And I know we will visit because that is what family members do.

Then the conversation will begin.

He will want to hear all about it just like all good parents care about their children’s feelings and experiences, I imagine He will lean in.

And He will ask:  What did you create, Gloria?

There was a time in my life where that kind of thought intimidated me.

I honestly thought my response to God couldn’t change and it would probably go something like this:

Lord, I know I spent my whole life ignoring the gifts and talents you gave me because I didn’t think I had anything to create.

Even though God changed my script, those words still hurt my heart today to think that was where I was.

Today, I think of how the cries from my heart for change captured His attention.

When I asked:

What would it take to get my life to work God?

Why can’t I find happiness in my relationships?

What have I done to deserve a life of such struggle?

I don’t remember the day I stopped leaning on the splintered crutch, but it happened, and He invited me into God’s world of wonder.

He got me ready to co-create with Him because I let Him.

Life now becomes a discovery where I seek to find out who I am determined to be.

And you can do the same.

You don’t have to stay in the old patterns of trying to become someone you weren’t meant to be.

So today, if you are a person who resists change – this is a great time to embrace a new version of you.

Feeling is the language of the soul, and God wants to know how you are feeling.  Start talking to Him… because He is not intimidated by any of it.

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us this:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

When you think that God is destroying your dreams when things don’t go your way, remember that God is building something much more beautiful than you can ever imagine, but He needs you to help Him co-create in your life.   GO AHEAD AND SAY IT:  LET THERE BE
