Light In Darkness By Meagan Goyne

In 2015 I was separated from my husband and in a stage of life that was full of darkness & hopelessness.

I turned from God and turned to poor decisions that led to even worse decisions. In this season of life I was found pregnant, no husband, in between homes, and broken. I was preparing to do this on my own. I felt no love, no self worth, no happiness and certainly no freedom.

On October 30th I got a call from the Lubbock County Detention Center that my husband had been arrested for a DWI. After spending 2 months in jail, he found Jesus again and we made the decision to start this new adventure back together.

I started going to church again by myself & when he was released we started attending together.

We had finally found happiness, hope, love and Christ again.

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:18‬

After 30 hours of labor we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world. 6 pounds and 15 ounces of pure gold. Our lives right there in that moment changed forever. We went through things that we thought was for the worst and God took those awful situations and made them for good. We re-committed our lives to the lord shortly after and became members of our church. The rest is basically history.  All the glory to Him!!

I encourage you, if you are in a stage of darkness and brokenness, don’t let that moment of hurt define you. The light is closer than you think. The presence of God is never too far. And God can restore any situation.

“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:3‬ ‭

Thank you for letting me share my story,

Meagan G
