Today, We Win by Gloria Toti

Easter 2022 is here once again, and I don’t know about you but this year Easter feels more meaningful for me.  I long for heaven.

I think my longing for heaven comes because our world is becoming more and more unsafe and downright hateful toward the things that God values.

Our hearts are hard-wired for peace.

I often wonder how long God will allow us to stay down here in this ugly world.

The times we are living through makes me want to hold on to Jesus a little tighter and lift my voice a little louder for His honor, but with respect of course.

If the enemy could have silenced the story of Jesus, he would have by now.

HE HAS NO POWER OVER JESUS.

The Easter story is not going away – it never will.

Today, I want to challenge you today with some deep Easter thoughts from AW Tozer— be warned these words fired me up,  so hold on to your hat as I read this quote:

“Do we really believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is something

more than making us the happiest fellows in the Easter parade?

Are we just to listen to the bright cantata and join in singing,

“Up from the Grave He Arose,” smell the flowers and go home and forget it?

No, certainly not!

It is truth and a promise with a specific moral application.

The resurrection certainly commands us with all the authority of sovereign obligation—

the missionary obligation!

Do you all hear the intensity in Mr. Tozer’s voice, or the personal responsibility he shares with us?  If you haven’t heard it, listen to the personal pronoun “I” as I read the next line.

I cannot give in to the devil’s principal, deceitful tactic

which makes so many Christians satisfied with an “Easter celebration” rather than experiencing the power of Christ’s resurrection.

It is the devil’s business to keep Christians mourning and weeping with pity beside the cross instead of demonstrating that Jesus Christ is risen, indeed.

When will the Christian church rise to depend on His promise and power, and get on the offensive for the risen and ascended Savior?”

I don’t know about you, but words like these strike a few nerves deep within my soul.

I hope your mind isn’t playing games with you and you are ready to ask Mr. Tozer himself what in the world is wrong with an Easter celebration?

If you are thinking that my friend, you are missing the point!

Let’s not forget that Jesus wants to rise in our hearts not just from the grave.

I’ll give you another glimpse our Savior’s greatness and love for you as I read

Revelation 1:12 “Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lamp stands, and in the midst of the lamp stands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow.  His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one.  I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.”

WE ARE ALIVE BECAUSE HE ROSE FROM THE GRAVE – HAPPY EASTER TO EACH OF YOU.  YOU ARE FIERCELY LOVED BY YOUR SAVIOR THIS DAY.
